When can we expect Sweat in the App store?

Sweat is going to launch in the App store very soon. We are working to deploy and launch our app this Fall in 2022. We are excited for the rapid growth of Sweat and can't wait to extend our user base.

How do I really earn money?

Accepted Answer

The user will Venmo their hedged money to us at the beginning of the week. At the end of the week, the app will calculate how many times you went to the gym and, respectively, will give you the amount of money you should receive back into your Venmo. The consequences and rewards are set at the beginning of the week, so you will always know how much money you will be gaining or losing depending on how true you stay to your commitment.

Can I wager money against my friends instead of you guys?

Yes! This feature will be coming soon and you will have the opportunity to wager against your friends. You can decide the gains and losses as you wish and all transactions will be up to your discretion.

We plan to work on this app with all of our time, so you should expect new updates and bug fixes to be coming out every week!

How is the interest rate on my hedged money calculated?

Accepted Answer

The interest rate on your money is calculated by how committed other users on the app are. For example, if there are many users who stay true and committed to their goal more than you, you will be earning a smaller interest rate than they will. On the other hand, if you stay more committed than other users of the app, your interest will be higher.

The interest rate is variable as we pay out users based off the money is lost. During the soft launch we will guarantee payouts 7%+. Once we launch we expect our interest rate to fluctuate within a similar range.

Do I have to work out at the gym, or are other types of workouts allowed?

No! Not at all. We encourage everyone to staying fit however they want to. Whether this be running, doing yoga, playing sports, or even taking your dog on a walk, we count it!
